Salary:                     £30,000 to £35,000 (depending on experience) 

Annual leave:          26 days

Start date:                6th August 2018 

Working Hours:      Monday to Friday (09:00 to 17:30)                                               

 

Job Purpose 

The College Principal is responsible for fostering and maintaining a clear vision for the future of the College. It would be the College Principal’s duty to widen opportunities for education in line with the wider Group’s direction and business needs, driving forward both the commercial and educational success of the College.

 The College Principal will have overall responsibility for the continued development and growth of the College's provision across EFL, FE, HE and vocational purpose. Above all, the Principal will embody and add value to the mission and sense of purpose of the College and the vision of Xinlung Group.

 

 The responsibilities and duties of the role shall include, but not limited to:

Planning, Strategy and Operations

1.     Establish clear lines of responsibility for the curriculum, the promotion, the successful financial management, and development and improvement of the student experience.

2.     Implementation and delivery of strategic and operational plans agreed with the academy director

3.     Facilitate cultural and business change by developing agreed objectives and operational plans to meet the College's strategic plan

  Human Resource Management

4.     Direct line management responsibility for all College staff, including the implementation of all staffing policies, procedures, appraisal system etc.

5.     Motivate and inspire staff of the College at all levels to deliver their highest levels of performance and to provide an environment in which they will develop

 Financial Responsibilities

6.     Oversee the financial performance and management of the College and contribute to the development of the College’s annual budget

7.     Recruitment of students to meet income targets

 Student Relations

8.     Ensuring the quality of the student experience at the College by:

  • providing a safe and productive learning, pastoral and social environment which is engaging and fulfilling for all students to excel
  • having in place effective quality assurance processes which ensure on-going quality improvement
  • translating same level of experience in accommodation and social activity
  • actively promoting Safeguarding and implement related policies

 Curriculum, Teaching & Learning

9.     Leading on all issues relating to the strategy, planning, management and delivery of courses, learning resources, libraries, research and learning-based activities

10. Ensuring that the College curriculum:

  • meets statutory requirements and the needs of its stakeholders;
  • engages with development and growth of provision;
  • is academically and financially viable and consistent with College objectives, learner recruitment targets and measures for success;
  • is engaging and prepares students to succeed and progress.

11. Co-ordinating the development of quality control around teaching and learning and development, supporting the Academic Manager to manage the assessment of learning; and ensuring that the College is inspection ready and committed to continuous improvement and development

 Additional Responsibilities

12. Representing the College and Group at external and internal events.

13. Maintaining effective relationships with local, regional and national agencies, developing appropriate external relations with other providers and customers and representing the College in external discussions as appropriate.

14. Ensure compliance with relevant legislations and procedures

15. Undertake any other relevant tasks delegated by the company management which are in line with the main responsibilities of the position.

 Requirements

  • Proven evidence of a commitment to continued professional development
  • At least 2-year experience in EFL/FE/HE management
  • Proven track record of setting, responding to, and successfully delivering challenging performance targets.
  • Experience handling the processes and procedures in relation to professional accreditation and professional bodies such as but not limited to British Council, English UK, UKVI, QAA etc.
  • A strong desire for continuous development and commitment to improve the overall student experience
  • Business travel both domestic and abroad is a requirement
