History

  • The University of Chichester is a public university located in West SussexEngland and became a university in 2005.
  • Campuses are based in the city of Chichester and the nearby coastal resort of Bognor Regis.
  • Today its many teaching and research specialisms include: Humanities (History, English, Theology); Social Sciences (e.g. Psychology; Childhood Studies); Music and Performing Arts; and Sports Studies and Education. Its heritage stretches back into the nineteenth century when, in 1839, Bishop Otter College was established.

Location and Transport

  • The University of Chichester comprises two campuses based in Bognor Regis and Chichester, located in the county of West Sussex.
  • Both locations are easily accessible from the major UK international airports of Heathrow and Gatwick and are about 90 minutes by train from London. The area is renowned for having the highest number of hours of sunshine in the UK!
