Edge Hill University

History

  • Edge Hill was founded in 1885 as the first non-denominational teacher training college for women, admitting 45 students. 
  • Since then it has grown to become an academic community of 10,000 full time students, a further 6,000 on part time professional development programmes and nearly 4,000 staff. 

Location and Transport

  • The Edge Hill university campus is in Ormskirk, 15 miles from Liverpool.
